LightPointe and GTSI Corp. Announce Partnership to Deliver Outdoor Wireless Solutions to Government Customers

LightPointe High-Bandwidth Products Ease Connectivity Bottlenecks Between LANs

(What Is This?)

San Diego - July 11, 2005: LightPointe, a designer and manufacturer of high-speed outdoor wireless products, and GTSI® Corp. (Nasdaq: GTSI), a leading government technology solutions aggregator, today announced that GTSI will bring LightPointe's solutions to its federal, state, local government and education customers. LightPointe's products are available on four of GTSI's contract vehicles: NASA SEWP III (Scientific, Engineering and Workstation Procurement); the NIH Electronic Commodity Store III; US Communities; and the Air Force NetCents contract.

LightPointe's Flight™ family of secure point-to-point outdoor wireless products use beams of light to transmit and receive data, which cannot be tapped or detected. Flight products employ license-free spectrum worldwide and provide a new level of connectivity between two or more buildings in enterprise campus networks. For customers seeking an additional layer of security protection for their data, these products are easily integrated with encryption devices.

"LightPointe's outdoor wireless products provide cost-effective, true fiber-like connectivity between two or more LANs," said Bob Preston, LightPointe's senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "This makes LightPointe ideal for government and education customers, especially those with Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet speeds inside their buildings, to extend the reach of their high-speed networks."

"Lightpointe's free space optical products offer tremendous value to GTSI customers. It enables them to deploy optical network performance capabilities over the air quickly without the recurring cost of leasing high-speed circuits from carriers or the incurring the cost of the construction and time involved in burying fiber optical cable," said Jim Biggs, Practice Manager, GTSI Satellite, Telecommunications, & Power Enterprise Technology Practice.

LightPointe's enterprise products provide full-duplex transmission speeds of 100 Mbps (Fast Ethernet) and 1.25 Gbps (Gigabit Ethernet) at distances from 500 meters to 5,000 meters. LightPointe's Flight optical wireless products include the FlightLiteT, FlightStrataT and FlightStrataT 100 XA models. Introduced in May at Networld+Interop, The FlightStrata 100 XA, is based on LightPointe's patented DualPathT architecture. The product blends license-free optical wireless for Fast Ethernet primary connectivity and radio frequency (RF) for 72 Mbps, secondary, redundant connectivity. The FlightStrata 100 XA provides 99.999 percent connectivity in all weather conditions at distances up to 5 kilometers (3 miles).

LightPointe optical wireless solutions are currently deployed by several leading government and educational organizations, including the U.S. Army, Miami Dade County, Baltimore County, Carnegie-Mellon University, North Carolina State University, Brooklyn Law School, Barry University and New School University. In addition, thousands of LightPointe systems are deployed in more than 60 countries.
