(Equipmente Pour Pont Laser. Le offres MRV Pont Laser)

LightPointe welcomes former MRV Communications' Free Space Optics customers

LightPointe would like to welcome all customers and channel partners associated with MRV Communications' Free Space Optics product line. On August 9, 2011, MRV Communications confirmed that the company has exited the Free Space Optics wireless business, to focus on other product areas (MRV Announces Second Quarter 2011 Financial Results). LightPointe, which has enjoyed a healthy competitive relationship with MRV's FSO wireless business unit over the years, would like to assist users of MRV's FSO bridges with their replacement and upgrade needs.

Upgrade your MRV FSO units to LightPointe's 4th generation AireLite Series, FlightStrata Series or HyBridge Series.

LightPointe has developed an upgrade kit which enables easy and cost effective replacement of specific MRV FSO units. The upgrade kit includes a custom designed metal plate which has pre-drilled holes to match MRV's mounting bracket. The plate is first bolted to the bottom of a new LightPointe FSO or Hybrid FSO-radio. Recessed areas for the bolt heads then enable the plate to be bolted to MRV's FSO mount. The end result is a seamless transition to LightPointe's 4th generation optical technology.

Benefits of LightPointe's MRV Upgrade Kit:

  • Protect's the user's investment in their existing cabling and MRV mount.

  • Easy installation (no need to completely realign the link). Just swap out the MRV link head and attach the LightPointe link head, and plug in the existing cables. In most installations, little or no fine-tuning of the alignment is necessary. It's that simple.

  • Upgrade to the latest 4th generation optical or hybrid optical-radio technology.

  • Increase reliability and performance up to GigE capacity. And, if upgrading to LightPointe's HyBridge Series, increase availability (up to 99.999%).

MRV Communications mount/upgrade kit is compatible with model TS700G/M8L/FS (your model must have an "FS" on the end). If your model does not have an FS, you will need a new LightPointe mount when replacing your MRV FSO unit. Please see the list of MRV FSO model numbers below, and the LightPointe-recommended replacement model (s).

Is your company a former MRV FSO channel partner?

LightPointe invites all former MRV Free Space Optics distributors, resellers and integrators to contact LightPointe and become an authorized LightPointe channel partner. Opportunities exist in many regions of the world. Benefits of becoming a LightPointe channel partner include the ability to go back to existing MRV customers/installations and upgrade outdated equipment to the latest FSO technology, with improved performance, reliability and warranties.

Performance – Ultra High Bandwidth
The high-end TereScope® series provides for 1 Mbps to 10 Gbps wire-speed connectivity for distances of up to 6.7 km.

Reliable Communication
Multiple transmit apertures technology: The TereScope® products use a multiple transmit apertures technology to ensure high performance under adverse weather conditions. The receivers are designed to overcome scintillation and other atmospheric noises in hot or cold weather.

High MTBF: All TereScope® systems are extremely reliable with an MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) of more than 10 years.
Heating: All our midrange systems are equipped with our special internal air circulation feature, based on dissipation of the power supply heat. This prevents the formation of condensation on the lenses under all weather conditions without the need for additional heating at low temperatures
Notwithstanding the above, when the internal heating and ventilation mechanism of the TereScope systems is not enough due to adverse weather conditions, such as heavy snow accompanied by strong wind or in places with high humidity the TereScope systems can be ordered with the additional heating.
For the TS5000 and TS4000 models the heating mechanism includes the front window with the implanted thin heating element and a circuit controlling the heating in accordance with the outside temperature and the humidity (P.N: TSX000-HEAT).
For the TS700 or TS800 models the heating mechanism includes the heating elements between the lens and the front window, which stream the heating towards the optical components in order to prevent condensation and to heat the window to prevent snow accumulation on the front window (P.N: TSX00-HEAT).
At the moment there is no heating option for the TS2000 models.

FSO Chaining for non-line-offset and higher distance communications The chaining of TereScope® FSO is required when the two sites are connected by more than one link using at least one additional building as a mid-point.
When is the Chaining required?
The chaining of TereScope® links is required in the following cases:
a) When there is no direct line of sight between the sites;
b) When the distance between the sites is too long;
c) When the distance between the sites is reachable with one link but the customer wants much more Power Budget for a higher reliability.
Backup Radio: Maximizing link availability under all weather conditions

The TereScope® Fusion was designed to combine the best features of two transport media: laser light and radio waves, to form a single, seamless, wireless communication link between network devices. By leveraging both technologies, we can provide the 99.999% availability that your network requires.
The TereScope® Fusion has been specifically constructed to maximize link availability between network nodes. These systems use the internationally unlicensed 2.4 GHz or 5.5 GHz ISM band and are used as a backup for a number of TereScope systems.

TereScope Fusion systems have an optical wireless link that provides Fast Ethernet connectivity as the primary link and Ethernet RF as the backup link. These systems operate under most weather conditions, including heavy rain, snow and fog, to nearly 100% link availability. Ease of installation and freedom from licensing make these systems very simple to deploy.
The Fusion built-in option exists for the TS5000, TS4000 and TS800 series. Add-on Fusion exist for the other models.
Safety

All TereScope® models are eye and skin safe at the aperture and comply with eye safety Class 1M.
The PoE technology allows to safely transfer electrical power to the TereScope system over the data cable. All the following TereScope models having the copper interface support the PoE (Power over Ethernet) technology: TS700/100, TS800/100, TS2000/100, TS4000/100 and TS5000/100. The first three models meet the requirements of the international standard IEEE802.3 2008 and their maximum power consumption is 15W. The two other models have the PoE feature with the consumption up to 27W. In order to benefit from this PoE feature these models should be ordered in the low voltage version (V13, F13, V3 or F3).

Network Management
The new generation of TereScopes systems, including the TS700 series is equipped with the management hardware. Most of the products include the Extended SNMP software version License. Though some of the systems do not have any license or the Basic version only, upgrading can be carried out at any time or at any place by means of the License key, which will be sent to the client.
SNMP monitoring can be done as usual via MRV’s SNMP MegaVision Web software or via TereScope’s SNMP Management web-based interface (using for example Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.), or any other standard SNMP Platform.
Dry Contacts: The TereScope® systems can be equipped with a dry contact option that enables interfacing to dry contacts based local and remote management and monitoring systems.

End-to-End Networking
The unique integration of high bandwidth with most secure FSO technology and end-to-end Ethernet/IP switches and routers enables the deployment of multi-site connectivity with in-building OptiSwitch Ethernet solutions and outdoor TereScope wireless connectivity with end-to-end MegaVision® Pro NMS integrated management.
